And liberty and justice for all. That’s the pledge we’ve all taken, and that should be the promise.
But out on the streets and in the halls of our government, we’ve seen the powers that be corrupt that time and time again, making liberty only for the ultra-rich and injustice for the masses. The rules do not seem to apply to ice agents killing our people, corporations poisoning our food, tech billionaires driving up our electric bills, or the big business profiting off war.
Together, we can stay winning, even if they change the rules.
When it comes to competitions, elections, like championship games, should not be rigged. The rules are the rules. What’s fair is fair. But Team Trifling is bent on grifting: stealing elections, retrying cases that have already been decided, and rolling back our rights. From restricting abortion (SB20) to bathroom bills (HB2) and don’t say gay bills (SB49), our community has had enough.
Black and brown, queer and trans, rural and white working class folks shouldn’t have to rely on freedom fighters like Carcaño, Kanautica and Leandro for access to public facilities, healthcare or equal education.

One bad call can ruin a vibe.
Every day, North Carolina Supreme Court justices make the call on cases that determine how you vote, whether you have access to healthcare and your rights as a worker. As Black, Brown, queer, trans, immigrant and working class folks we all know how our livelihoods, our rights and our safety can be impacted by the wrong person in a powerful position. We are living it right now as ICE kidnaps our people, our healthcare is criminalized and trans legal rights are being erased.
You can’t pick the ref for the Final Four, the championship game or the WNBA, but you can vote to elect the referee for your rights.
TRANSFORM THE VOTE
Elections have dire consequences, and our queer and trans siblings often feel the brunt of it. In NC and across the nation, strict voter ID laws can force trans folks to present an ID that no longer represents who they are.

Figuring out all of the information to vote can be tricky.

Not sure if you are registered? Check with the North Carolina Board of Elections (BOE) Voter Search tool.
Even if you know that you are registered, we suggest checking your voter registration early to make sure that it is active, accurate, and up to date.
Inaccurate information on your registration can create serious problems at the polls and may even affect your ability to cast a vote.

If you have not registered, or you need to re-register because your registration has disappeared or is not up to date, follow these steps:
To vote on Election Day (November 3) You must register by the state deadline: October 9, 2026. There are three ways to register before the deadline:
Register by mail. Download the application and return the completed application to your county BOE by mail. Find your county BOE here

Register online with the NC DMV if you have a NC drivers license or NC DMV ID. Click the blue ‘Complete voter registration application online’ button
Same-Day Registration & Voting (October 15 - October 31) If you miss the October 9 deadline to register, you can still do same-day registration and voting during Early Voting. You can register and vote at any Early Voting site in your county.

Early Voting If you are voting during the Early Voting period (Oct 19 - Oct 31), you may cast a ballot at any early voting site in your county. Look up early voting sites by county. Early voting sites allow you to complete same-day registration.
Election Day Voting If you are voting on Election Day, you must vote at your assigned polling site. Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. The BOE states: “Any voter in line at their assigned polling place at 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote. The busiest times tend to be early in the morning and just before the polls close. Avoid longer lines by voting at off-peak times.” Look up your assigned polling place by Voter Search or by address.
